Environmental protection is one of the five primary missions of the U.S. Coast Guard. We promote environmental stewardship among the maritime community and actively engage in education, prevention and investigation measures all aimed at minimizing the environmental impact of maritime disasters, oil spills, illegal waste dumping and other issues.
